Winston-Salem Entrepreneur Spotlight: Three Strands Recovery Wear
October 19, 2023
The Winston-Salem company Three Strands Recovery Wear, founded by local entrepreneur Leah Wyrick, has developed the Resilience Bra – a patent-pending, post-operative bra designed for women who have undergone surgeries due to breast cancer including mastectomies, breast reconstruction, and other breast-related cosmetic surgeries.
Three Strands Recovery Wear’s Story
Wyrick founded Three Strands in 2019 while she was a freshman at Wake Forest University. Her mother’s breast cancer diagnosis and complications with drains and bra discomfort motivated Wyrick to partner with Dr. Samuel Roy to create the Resilience Bra – a post-surgical bra for women with breast cancer.
The Founder of Three Strands Recovery Wear
Wyrick spent her time in college simultaneously working as a full-time college student and a full-time business owner. She recently graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Business and is now dedicating herself full-time to Three Strands Recovery Wear.
Wyrick is also a participant in Winston Starts, a startup accelerator program in Winston-Salem.
