Thursday, September 26

  • Author Visit – Meet Vernon Glenn at The Bookhouse as he launches Slim and None, the final book in his trilogy about a North Carolina attorney. 6 PM
  • Stage Show – Watch the Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance’s performance of My Sister In This House, a psychological drama-thriller. Runs through Sunday.
  • Brantley Gilbert – The country rock singer performs at LJVM Coliseum as part of the Off the Rails Tour! 7 PM
  • Bookmarks Opening Keynote – TJ Klune discusses his new book, Somewhere Beyond the Sea, at First Baptist on Fifth. 6:30 PM
  • Swap & Style – Bring three apparel or accessory items to the Delta Fine Arts Center to swap with other fashion lovers! 6:30 PM

 

Friday, September 27

  • Movie Night – A/peture hosts a screening of The Incredibles at Crossnore! Bring a lawn chair or blanket and grab a burger from the Sliders food truck. Pre-movie activities start at 6:30 PM, movie starts at dusk. (CANCELED)
  • Cricket Nest’s Fall Festival – Find unique hand-crafted and upcycled goods at South Fork Community Center. Runs through Saturday.
  • Books & Bites – Meet the Bookmarks Festival featured authors early, skip the Saturday signing lines, and enjoy light bites at the Benton Convention Center! 7 PM
  • Salsa Dance Social – Join SonCaribe Latin Dance at the Coal Pit for a beginners dance class, followed by a night of social dancing! 7-11 PM
  • Comedy & Brewpub Tour – Climb aboard the “jolly trolley” for a hilarious trip around town featuring an onboard comedy show and a tasting at a local brewpub. 7 PM
  • Cooking Class – Learn to make the perfect homemade pizza and salad at Southern Home & Kitchen. 12-1 PM

  • Fizz & Beats – Listen to live music and sample mocktails at this one-of-a-kind zero-proof festival at the Ciener Botanical Garden. A portion of proceeds benefit Greater Piedmont Adult and Teen Challenge. 12-6 PM
  • Bookmarks Festival – Head downtown for the largest book festival in the Carolinas, featuring 50 authors signing books and speaking on panels. All day.
  • A Playdate for Iz! – Clemmons Moravian Church Childcare Center hosts a community event to support Izial “Iz” Williams, a toddler recently diagnosed with cancer. The free event will feature playground play, activity stations, and raffles. 10 AM – 2 PM
  • Walk From Obesity – Walk or run at Hanes Park in support of the TREO Foundation! The non-profit supports treatment, research, and education to end obesity. 9 AM
  • Apple Festival – Experience history with demonstrations from 18th-century craftsmen, play Colonial games, and enjoy fall’s apple harvest at Historic Bethabara Park! 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Southern Charm at the Farm – Are you ready for one of the biggest vendor markets in the Triad? Head to Tanglewood Park with your friends and shop from 300 vendors! 9 AM – 4 PM

  • Art in the Park – Join NCMA Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA) at Blum-Blanding Park to learn how to make plushies! 11 AM – 2 PM

  • Pregnant in the Piedmont – Join Piedmont Doulas at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Conference Center for a pregnancy, baby, early childhood, and parenting expo. 12-4 PM

  • Author Visit – Are you a fan of sci-fi and fantasy? Christopher Ruocchio, the author of the Sun Eater series, holds an author talk and book signing at The Bookhouse. 1-3 PM

 

Sunday, September 29

  • Salem Bach Festival – Get swept away in the music of Bach as musical and vocal ensembles perform his works at Home Moravian Church. 3 PM
  • Fabulous Flashbacks – Listen to classics from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s at The Historic Broyhill in Clemmons! 3 PM
  • Little Shop of Horrors – RiverRun International Film Festival presents a free screening of the cult classic film at Hanesbrands Theatre. 4 PM
  • Oktoberfest – Celebrate at Brouwerij DuBois with traditional German food, stein-holding contests, music, and games! 12-8 PM
  • Music and Art Gala – Synergize Business Mission hosts an evening of art, music, vendors, raffles, and more at Wise Man Brewing to raise suicide awareness. Proceeds benefit Family Services of Forsyth County. 3-8 PM
  • Calligraphy Class – Join Sip & Script at Joymongers Barrel Hall to learn the basics of calligraphy and letter a faux pumpkin! Supplies are included. 4:30 PM
