Washington Park

ADDRESS | 1490 Broad St, Winston-Salem

Located in Washington Park Historic District, Washington Park is on 77 acres, and includes two nature trails (1 mile and .5 mile) and a fun dinosaur-themed playground! Don’t forget to take a bike ride on the Salem Creek Greenway or bring your pups to the nearby dog park!

Miller Park

ADDRESS | 400 Leisure Ln, Winston-Salem

Miller Park in Ardmore offers a well-shaded, serene nature experience on 39 acres with two nature trails (1 mile and .5 mile), a playground, and a creek to explore. Miller Park also has an outdoor exercise area for adults, so don’t forget your sweats!

Hathaway Park

ADDRESS | 301 Anita Dr, Winston-Salem

This quiet neighborhood park sits on 17 acres just south of Forsyth Country Club. It’s perfect for hot sunny days, as it is well-shaded and has a splash pad (open May 1–September 25).

Happy Hill Park

ADDRESS | 1230 Alder St. Winston-Salem

This colorful playground is close to Old Salem and features a large splash pad for hot summer days. The park also has a full-sized track for those interested in running/walking laps. You have quick access to the Salem Creek Greenway and a small but endearing view of the city.

Union Cross Park

ADDRESS | 1935 Union Cross Road, Winston-Salem

Union Cross Park is in east Winston-Salem, off I-74. This county-maintained park features a large sand area, including a giant sand mound to climb and a sand volleyball court.

Tanglewood Park

ADDRESS | 4061 Clemmons Rd, Clemmons

Tanglewood has all the amenities you can think of and hosts a variety of events. This is the only park on the list that has a fee ($2 per vehicle); however, it is worth it! Tanglewood has one of the best pools and splash pads around! It also shares its location with the Little Walden Trail right outside the park. This trail is short but perfect for children to explore, and it’s free!

Jamison Park

ADDRESS | 285 Meadowlark Dr., Winston-Salem

Jamison Park, located in western Winston-Salem, provides a more natural playscape and structures such as a wooden balance beam, walking stumps, and “rocks” to climb. Don’t forget your bike if you want to take a ride on Muddy Creek Greenway or your pup if you want to stop by the dog park. There is also a nice shelter you can rent for a variety of events.

Oak Summit Park

ADDRESS | 406 Oak Summit Rd., Winston-Salem

This spaceship-themed playground located in north Winston-Salem has a three-story structure for ages 5-12 and a smaller structure for younger kids. It also features swings and a short .22 mile walking trail.

CG Hill Memorial Park

This park is a great place for a serene walk with two paved walking paths totaling .8 miles. The fishing lake, ample trees, including the historic 500-year-old hollow popular, and playground make this park an ideal destination for kids and adults.

Hanes Park

ADDRESS | 1404 W. Northwest Boulevard, Winston-Salem

Close to downtown Winston-Salem, 34-acre Hanes Park boasts one of the tallest playground structures in the area! Although this park is visited often for its playground, don’t forget to enjoy the mile-long walking trail along Peters Creek.

Little Creek Park

Tucked into the back of a neighborhood near Hanes Mall Blvd, Little Creek Park is 34 acres with many family-friendly amenities. One of the main perks is a fully fenced-in playground. This is another park that offers a splash pad to cool off on those hot summer days!

The Quarry at Grant Park

This 200+ acre park was built to resemble a quarry and mining operation, complete with a gravel pit and digging equipment. Take a trip down the 42-foot mega-slide, climb up the rock climbing wall, or play on the rope swings.
