To Your Health Bakery
To Your Heath Bakery is a local bakery specializing in gourmet gluten-free, keto, allergy-free, and vegan baked goods. Their cinnamon rolls and donuts are such a treat. They have “savory” food items available for breakfast/lunch in addition to a large variety of frozen and fresh baked goods. This is a great option for a gluten-free cake/dessert to bring to an event.
PRO-TIP: They have an excellent website and social media page that shows the local dessert options for each day.
Camino Bakery
There are three Camino Bakery locations in Winston-Salem: downtown, Brookstown, and Baptist Hospital. They all have excellent coffee, a cute vibe for studying/meeting friends, and a lot of GF options! Year-round, they offer a gluten-free/vegan sugar cookie, gluten-free/vegan PB cookie, gluten-free/vegan brownie, and some savory food options.
BONUS: Camino has seasonal menus and typically offers a gluten-free seasonal scone and almond horn!
DeBeen Espresso
The majority of DeBeen’s baked goods and homemade gelato come in a gluten-free version. They offer a variety of options including muffins, cinnamon rolls, cakes, and more. In addition, their treats are freshly baked in-house everyday!
NOTE: The fans voted DeBeen as the Triad’s Best Coffee in 2023, so you’re sure to get a delicious and high-quality treat here!
Asian Restaurants
HakkaChow
At HakkaChow, the chef and servers are knowledgeable about what items are safe to consume for anyone with dietary restrictions. The menu is clearly labeled and has tons of gluten-free options, making this one of the easiest Winston spots to safely eat gluten-free.
BONUS: HakkaChow is a great date night spot, but they also do excellent take-out for when you need good food on the go!
Cha Da Thai
Cha Da Thai has an extensive gluten-free menu and knowledgeable staff about safe options.
P.S. They also offer excellent take-out options if you have no dinner plans.
BBQ Restaurants
Honky Tonk Smokehouse
The Honky Tonk Smokehouse staff is friendly and helpful. They have a clearly labeled gluten-free menu and are great for carryout or dine-in.
BONUS: Honky Tonk Smokehouse is a great place to have wings out!
American Restaurants
Cin Cin Burger Bar
At Cin Cin Burger Bar, gluten-free buns are available for sandwiches/burgers, and the staff is very knowledgeable about gluten-free sides. Gluten-free individuals will feel safe eating here!
PRO-TIP: They also have alcoholic/non-alcoholic milkshakes which can be made gluten-free as well as a flourless dessert option!
River Birch Lodge
This cozy restaurant has a gluten-free fryer. You can request your fries to be made separately to ensure there is no cross-contamination. Having a dedicated fryer allows for many more menu items to truly be gluten-free. There is a clearly labeled separate gluten-free menu.
NOTE: In addition, River Birch also offers gluten-free bun options!
Latin/Tex Mex Restaurants
Mojito Latin Soul Food
Mojito Latin Soul Food has a clearly labeled GF menu with many options. Located downtown, they have an adorable patio with lovely outdoor dining. Here, you’ll find gluten-free options for tacos, bowls, yucca fries, plantain chips, and more.
P.S. They have a great mojito cocktail!
The Porch Kitchen & Cantina
Not only does the restaurant have such a fun vibe, but there are so many gluten-free options here. We hear the naked burrito bowl, Santa Clara bowl, or tacos on corn tortillas are all delicious.
PRO-TIP: Try their margaritas! They typically also offer cider on tap.
Sandwich Spots
TJ’s Deli
TJ’s Deli has an excellent gluten-free bread for sandwiches that actually holds up well. They even fry their french fries in a separate fryer to ensure there is no cross-contamination!
BONUS: This is a great spot for dine-in or carry-out.
The Carving Board
At The Craving Board, the staff is knowledgeable about side items. The gluten-free roll is actually a normal size piece of bread, which is very difficult to find in the gluten-free world!
PRO-TIP: The Carving Board is one of the best local spots for a weekend sandwich!
Village Juice
Village Juice is a local healthy restaurant with many gluten-free options. They have many grain bowls, smoothie bowls, avocado and nut butter toasts, salads, bars, and sandwiches that you can make gluten-free.
BONUS: They also have great gluten-free baked goods!
Bobo’s Deli
If you’re looking for a delicious sandwich but have dietary restrictions, Bobo’s Deli has got you covered! Their gluten-free bread means you can now enjoy all the delicious sandwiches they offer without having to worry about compromising your diet.

Di Lisio’s Italian
Di Lisio’s is an excellent date night spot and was voted some of the best Italian food in Forsyth County. Here, you’ll find tons of gluten-free pasta options!

Zito’s Pizzeria
Zito’s is another local option for gluten-free pizza. The menu is clearly labeled for gluten-free and vegan options, and the staff is very helpful for determining which items can be accommodated to be gluten-free.
PRO-TIP: Craving pizza but don’t have to time to go to a restaurant? Zito’s offers delivery, so they can bring the good eats to you!
Breakfast & Brunch
Krankies
Krankies has taken the initiative to offer gluten-free bread, making it easier for individuals with dietary restrictions to still enjoy their favorite sandwiches. Even though many of their sandwiches include fried chicken, gluten-free individuals can still enjoy classics like an egg & cheese sandwich!
BONUS: Krankies has a great coffee menu, so you can get your caffeine fix with your breakfast.
Young Cardinal Cafe
Young Cardinal is a wonderful downtown spot for both lunch and brunch. There are plenty of “naturally” gluten-free options (i.e. omelet, huevos rancheros, grit bowl) in addition to gluten-free bread for toast and breakfast sandwiches. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful to navigate the menu to determine safe gluten-free options.

Penny Path Cafe & Crepe Shop
Penny Path Cafe is a cute shop located in Reynolda Village. They have gluten-free crepe options and offer a safe gluten-free dining experience.
BONUS: Penny Path’s menu includes both savory and sweet crepes!
Miam Breakfast House
An upscale breakfast restaurant committed to using fresh, local ingredients. They have a gluten-free pancake and waffle, in addition to omelets, benedicts, skillets, and more classic breakfast dishes.
Fun Fact: If you’re wondering about the name, ‘miam’ means yum in French!
