Thursday, May 16

  • Author Event – Harlan Coben discusses his newest mystery/thriller book, Think Twice, at Reynolds Place Theatre as part of Bookmarks’ Murder & Margaritas event series. 6:30 PM
  • Paw Crawl – Join Forsyth Humane Society at JuggHeads Growlers & Pints for its monthly pet-friendly bar crawl. 5-7 PM
  • Book Discussion – SECCA hosts “The Book Was Better,” a series exploring books that were adapted to the screen. This month’s book is Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. 6 PM
  • Open Mic Night – Showcase your talent at The Playground Golf & Sports Bar. Singing, comedy, poetry, and other talents are welcome! 6:30-9:30 PM
  • Evening Concert – Triad Community Band performs various songs from movie scores by John Williams, Disney favorites, and much more at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Free to attend, but the band welcomes food pantry donations. 7 PM

 

Friday, May 17

  • Starlight Movie – Watch Jurassic Park at Shallowford Square, the first installment of Lewisville’s summer movie series. Movie starts at dusk. *rescheduled to May 24*
  • Greek Festival – Celebrate Greek culture at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with folk dancing, live music, a Greek market, children’s activities, and incredible food. Runs through Sunday.
  • Art Crush – Head to the Arts District for live performances, food, art galleries, and shopping from local vendors and artists. 7-10 PM
  • Movie in the Park – The Town of Kernersville presents Trolls: Band Together at Harmon Park. Movie starts at dusk. *rescheduled to July 19*
  • Torch Run – Watch the NC Special Olympics’ Law Enforcement Torch Run at Bailey Park, and then enjoy food trucks, music, and information booths. 1-2:30 PM
  • Comedy Show – Laugh the night away as Next Stop Comedy brings top stand-up comedians to Foothills Tasting Room. 7:30 PM
  • Mornings at Reynolda – Take your preschooler to Reynolda to explore the property through activities that encourage dramatic play, music, movement, nature exploration, and art-making. 10 AM
  • Stage Show – 40+ Stage Company presents The Old Settler, a story set in 1940s Harlem. Show runs through Sunday at the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness.
  • Quilt Show – Heart of the Triad Quilt Guild brings vendors, a quilt market, and raffle baskets to the Neil Bolton Home & Garden Building. Also available Saturday.
  • Outdoor Movie – Spread out a blanket in Bailey Park and enjoy watching Everything Everywhere All at Once (rated R). Movie starts at dusk.

 

Saturday, May 18

  • Bavarian Circus – Germany’s Great Bavarian Circus comes to the US for the first time! Watch the Spindler perform at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds through Sunday.
  • Greek Festival – Celebrate Greek culture at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with folk dancing, live music, a Greek market, children’s activities, and incredible food! Runs through Sunday.
  • Ga-Ga About Gardening – Meet garden industry experts at Elderberry Creek Farm & Nursery and view unique garden-related products available to purchase. 11 AM – 4 PM
  • Jazz Club – The Winston-Salem Symphony’s jazz ensemble performs at Körner’s Folly. Before and in between performances, guests can enjoy adult beverages and explore the historic home. Performances at 6 PM and 7:45 PM.
  • Dance Performance – The Winston-Salem QIPAO Chinese Association performs traditional Chinese dances at Bailey Park. 12:30 PM
  • Softgolf – Play a game of Softgolf at Tanglewood Park to support the Triad Women’s Club scholarship fund. What is Softgolf? It’s just like normal golf, but with oversized equipment to make it more user-friendly! 9 AM
  • Dino Dig – Bring your kids ages 2-6 to dig up dinosaur bones at Washington Park Playground. 10 AM -12 PM
  • Author Event – Tina Firesheets, the author of 100 Things to Do in Winston-Salem Before You Die, appears at Book Ferret to talk about exploring hidden gems in Winston-Salem. 2 PM
  • Scavenger Hunt – Race around Winston-Salem in the ultimate city-wide scavenger hunt! Form a team of 2-6 people and meet at Bailey Park before setting off on your adventure. 6 PM
  • Winston Junction Market – Find handmade items from local artists and makers at Winston Junction Market. 11 AM – 4 PM
  • Messtival – Get messy at Kaleideum with goo and gunk galore! Bring the kids for water play, oobleck pools, foam parties, and foot painting. (Parents, you’ll want to bring a towel and change of clothes for them) 11 AM – 5 PM
  • Barn Bash – Celebrate the reopening of the Barn Store for the season! Shop the store’s organically-grown produce; there will also be local vendors, lively music, and family games. 10 AM – 3 PM
  • Spring Market – Culture hosts artist and craft vendors in front of Liberty Plaza! 2-6 PM
  • Bill Burr – Comedian, producer, and writer Bill Burr performs at LJVM Coliseum! 7:30 PM

 

Sunday, May 19

  • International Dance – Local dance groups perform diverse international dance forms at the Vecino Center. Enjoy music from a live DJ and an ice cream food truck! 4:30-6 PM
  • Camel City Craft Fair – Head to Foothills Tasting Room for shopping from local vendors, along with live music and food trucks. 12-5 PM
  • A Taste of India – A culinary experience awaits you! Enjoy buttered chicken and take home your own recipe, spices, and Indian sweets. Location is given before the event. 4-8 PM
