In the former location of Tate’s Crafted Cocktails, this dispensary-meets-lounge features cannabis products, coffee, cocktails, board games, darts, and more!

Wicked Good Wool

Owned by local Mandie Sawyer, this shop carries yarn, needles, hooks, patterns, kits, and more with a focus on women-owned brands and sustainable fibers.

The Observatory

ADDRESS | 701 Trade St NW, Winston-Salem

This celestial-themed cocktail lounge took over Euphoria’s former space and is run by the same owner! The Observatory features rotating local art and performances by local musicians and poets.

Bonus: The semi-enclosed patio space feels like a hidden garden!

Dutch Bros Coffee

ADDRESSES | 289 S. Stratford Rd, Winston-Salem

Dutch Bros Coffee acquired Clutch Coffee Bar in January and renovated all of its locations. The franchise has an extensive drink menu and is known for its extremely friendly employees!

Also: Dutch Bros Coffee also plans to build another location at 698 Hanes Mall Boulevard, the former Bank of America site.

Coffee Park Airstream’s Community Clubhouse

ADDRESS | 1206 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem

Coffee Park Airstream renovated the building behind them, formerly home to Mock Orange Bikes. The cozy space has plenty of seating with branded merch, tea, and syrups for sale.

Blue Skies Creamery has been scooping homemade ice cream from a food truck since 2023, but now they’re opening a brick-and-mortar location! The shop will feature an expanded menu and introduce milkshakes, craft soda floats, and homemade waffle bowls.

Bonus: Co-owners Alan and Bret also plan to open a family- and kid-centric space next door within the year!

Windsor Dalton Designs

Local designer Windsor Dalton is opening his own showroom! The space will feature curated furniture, lighting, textiles, antiques, and more.

The Jugo Bar

ADDRESS | 411 W. 4th St, Unit 141, Winston-Salem

A juice bar created by local William Fulton serving cold-pressed juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, mushroom coffee, and rooibos tea! This will be the third location in NC.

Background: Fulton was inspired to start The Jugo Bar by his travels abroad, where food was made without “junk.” He began selling his juices at farmers markets in 2019 before opening up his first storefront in 2022!

Athena Stationery & Cafe

ADDRESS | 1004 Brookstown Ave, Winston-Salem

Created by best friends Becca and Daphne, Athena Stationery & Cafe will carry journals, postcards, stickers, washi tape, adult coloring books, and much more. Paired with drip coffee and baked goods, this sounds like a spot we could hang out for hours!

Bonus: They also plan to host craft workshops like book binding and flower pressing!

The Spicy Pickle

From the team behind Sage & Salt Bistro and Tuscani comes The Spicy Pickle, a casual deli! They’ll have classic deli sandwiches like Reubens and meatball subs, pasta salads, grab-n-go items, plus gelato and sorbet for dessert.

Miam Breakfast House

Sandbox VR

Located in the former downtown CVS, Sandbox VR will use headsets, motion-capture cameras, full-body trackers, and haptic suits for immersive virtual reality experiences!

Why It Matters: This will be the first Sandbox VR in North Carolina! The franchise owner’s hope is that the prime location and high-tech entertainment will bring more foot traffic to downtown Winston-Salem.
