- Face to Face – American novelist Jesmyn Ward speaks at Wait Chapel as part of Wake Forest’s Face to Face Speaker Forum. The event is free and open to the public. 6 PM

- Christmas Wrapped in Brass – The North Carolina Brass Band performs its annual Christmas concert at Salem College. 7:30 PM
- Festive Family Friday – Bring the whole family to Kaleideum to visit Santa, create festive holiday crafts, and make reindeer food. 6 PM
- The Nutcracker – Watch UNCSA students bring this classic ballet to life at the Steven Tanger Center. Runs through Sunday.
- Lights of Hope – Forsyth Humane Society hosts a lighting ceremony and holiday festival! You can purchase a light in honor of your pets and help FHS continue supporting shelter pets in the community. 5-8 PM
- Gingerbread House – Learn how to decorate a gingerbread house at The Canvas Cake Studio! 3 PM
- Hobby Mega Show – Shop from 350 vendors showcasing items like comic books, vintage trading cards, collectibles, and more at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. Runs through Saturday.
- Tree Lighting – Meet Santa, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and watch Lewisville light up its tree in Shallowford Square! 7 PM
- Caroling Fridays – Sing with fellow carolers at the Reynolda House—no singing experience required! 2:30 PM
- Twin City Santa – Attend this annual toy drive and semi-formal event at The Millenium Center, featuring live music, food & drinks, and a 360 photo booth. 8 PM – 12 AM

- Mistletoe Run – Run in the YMCA of Northwest NC’s largest fundraiser of the year at the William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA! 7:30 AM
- Visit From Santa – Take pictures with Santa and enjoy hot chocolate at Union Station! 9 AM – 12 PM
- The Nutcracker – Watch UNCSA students bring this classic ballet to life at the Steven Tanger Center. Runs through Sunday.
- Sayso & Friends Winter Market – Shop from over 20 vendors at Sayso Coffee. 9 AM – 2 PM
- Christmas at Bethabara – Celebrate the holiday season at Bethabara by touring the decorated 1788 Gemeinhaus, listening to a Moravian Brass Band, and making Christmas crafts. 1:30-4:30 PM
- Can Film Festival – Watch two holiday movies at Marketplace Cinemas! Bring two food items for Samaritan Ministries for each screening and person attending. Screenings at 12:30 PM, 3 PM, and 7:30 PM.
- Local Roots Holiday Market – Discover unique items from local vendors at Local Roots Coffee. There will be a holiday craft for kids! 8 AM – 3 PM
- Pups & Pints – Meet Pawfect Match Rescue’s adoptable pets at Incendiary Brewing (Lewisville location)! 1-3 PM
- Paws & Claus – Bring your pet to The Snob Shop for pictures with Santa! All proceeds benefit the Forsyth Humane Society. 10 AM – 2 PM
- Jazz Performance – Piedmont Jazz Alliance presents a performance by Yayoi Ikawa at NCMA Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA). 7:30 PM
- Christmas Show – Theatre Alliance presents “Yo, Ho, Ho: A Pirate’s Christmas.” This family-friendly show runs through December 21!
- Festival of Merriment – Head to West Salem Public House for a pop-up market featuring lunch by Native Root! 12-3 PM
- Workout For A Cause – Workout with Winston Under 40 at RockBox Fitness and support their 2024 community partner, Parenting PATH! 11:15 AM
- Winston-Salem Parade – The annual holiday parade starts at the intersection of Fourth Street and Poplar Street! 5 PM

- Yadkinville Christmas Parade – The parade starts at corner of Progress Lane and Old U.S. 421. 10 AM
- Kernersville Tree Lighting – Watch Kernersville light up its tree in Town Hall Courtyard. Children can drop off a letter for Santa at the event! 6 PM
Sunday, December 8
- Holiday Open House – Shop for your holiday gifts at Windsor Jewelers! Enjoy interest-free financing, the chance to win a $500 gift certificate, and an in-person visit from designer Frederic Sage. 12-6 PM
- Wake Forest Lovefeast – Join Wake Forest at Wait Chapel for its annual Lovefeast. Event is first come, first seated. Doors open at 6 PM, service starts at 7 PM.
- Calligraphy Class – Join Sip & Script at Joymongers Barrel Hall to learn the basics of calligraphy. Supplies are included. 4:30 PM
- Christmas in the Coalpit – Shop from 35+ local vendors at Incendiary Brewing (Winston-Salem location). P.S. We hear Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos!
- Holiday Concert – The UNCSA Cantata Singers perform at Home Moravian Church! 2 PM
