South of Winston-Salem (Lexington, Welcome)

 

Old Homeplace Vineyard – 25 minutes

HOURS | Friday 1-6 PM; Saturday & Sunday 12-6 PM

ADDRESS | 623 McGee Road

ABOUT | Once a tobacco farm, this lakefront tasting room, and vineyard is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy some wine. They have wine tastings and live music. Good to know: Bring your own lawn chair!

Childress Vineyards – 25 minutes

HOURS | Tasting Room & Gift Shop: Daily 10 AM-5 PM; Bistro, Lunch served daily: 10 AM – 4 PM

ADDRESS | 1000 Childress Vineyards Road

ABOUT | By opening the doors to Childress Vineyards in 2004, NASCAR team owner Richard Childress fulfilled a longtime dream that grew from the days when he first began racing in California and visited wineries with friends. The winery is open daily for tours, tastings, and lunch at the Bistro. Enjoy free weekend music series May through October plus other special events. They host live music every weekend from May-October.

Weathervane Winery – 20 minutes

HOURS | Tuesday – Saturday 11 AM-5 PM; Sunday 1-5 PM

ADDRESS | 1452 Welcome-Arcadia Road

ABOUT | Weathervane has 19 great wines and a gift shop. Nothing is mass-produced, no filtering, and no huge storage tanks for aging. Everything is done by hand, assuring that each bottle has the best taste. They have Winery cottages available to book, wine tastings, and events.

Native Vines Winery – 25 minutes

HOURS | Monday – Friday 11-5 PM; Saturday 11-6 PM; Sunday 1-5 pm

ADDRESS | 1336 NC-150

ABOUT | Native Vines Winery is the first Native American Indian-owned winery. They have been producing completely natural, seasonal fruit wines since 1998, with a focus on apple and blackberry. Music on the lawn is offered on specific dates throughout the summer. Wine tastings are available. 

 


Mocksville & Lewisville

 

Medaloni Cellars – 20 minutes

HOURS | Wednesday-Thursday 2-7 PM; Friday: 12-7 PM; Saturday: 11-6 PM; Sunday: 12-6 PM

ADDRESS | 9125 Shallowford Road

ABOUT | The vineyard consists of 22 acres, cabins are available for rent, a beautiful outdoor space, and a cozy indoor seating area. They have food trucks on-site each weekend from March-November. They offer wine tasting and wine flights.

Rayson Winery and Vineyards – 25 minutes

HOURS | Wednesday-Sunday 11-7 PM

ADDRESS | 322 Brix Lane

ABOUT | Rayson Winery was formerly RayLen Vineyards before a change in ownership in November 2023. Rayson has wine tastings and plans to open up a new restaurant, Bistro Europa, in summer 2024.  It has a beautiful outdoor seating area and a covered picnic area for those who like the shade.

 

 


Yadkin Valley

 

Hanover Park Vineyard – 30 minutes

HOURS | Wednesday-Saturday from 12-5 PM and Sundays from 1-5 PM

ADDRESS | 1927 Courtney-Huntsville Road

ABOUT | They offer wine flights and snacks are available for purchase or you can bring your own. You can host your special event in one of their two beautiful spaces.

Brandon Hills Vineyard – 35 minutes

HOURS | March-December: Friday 1-5 PM, Saturday 12-6 PM, Sunday 1-5 P<
January: Closed
February: Sat & Sun 1-5 PM

ABOUT | Brandon Hills Vineyards is nestled in Yadkin Valley with beautiful views of their vineyard. There is plenty of seating outside and limited seating inside. Purchase a wine flight for $20 and take a glass home with you. Bonus: Pet-friendly!

 

Brandon Hills Vineyard

Sanders Ridge Winery – 35 minutes

HOURS | M-Th (12-5 PM), Friday and Saturday (12-6 PM), Sunday (11 AM-5 PM)

ADDRESS | 3200 Round Hill Rd

ABOUT | Sanders Ridge is a 179-year-old family farm in the heart of The Yadkin Valley! They often have live music, so be sure to check their website! Good to know: No outside coolers or food.

 

 


East Bend

 

Cellar 4201 – 30 minutes

HOURS | April-Nov: Friday-Sunday 12-6 PM

ADDRESS | 4201 Apperson Road

ABOUT | Located in East Bend, Cellar 4201 has 5 acres of premium grapes. They are a boutique-style, family-owned vineyard in Yadkin Valley. They have been open since the spring of 2003 and specialize in Sangiovese – their signature wine.

Divine Llama Vineyards – 30 minutes

HOURS | Thursday-Saturday 12-6 PM and Sundays 1-6 PM/ Open year-round

ADDRESS | 4126 Divine Llama Lane

ABOUT |  Divine Llama is a fabulous place for an outing. As the name implies, they have llamas on-site and are the largest llama farm in the Southeast. You can participate in llama trekking tours and wine tastings. They often have food trucks for you to enjoy. There is a $10.00 per person admission for visiting the llama farm.

Flint Hill Vineyards – 25 minutes

ADDRESS | 2133 Flint Hill Road

ABOUT | Flint Hill Vineyards opened in October of 2005. The vineyard is located on land that has been in their family for over 100 years. Enjoy a bottle of one of their eight wines and take a tour of the vineyard.

 


Pilot Mountain Area

 

Jolo Winery and Vineyards – 30 minutes

HOURS | Thursday 11 AM – 6 PM PM; Friday – Sunday 11 AM-8 PM

ABOUT | The vision for the 80-acre property is to showcase its natural beauty with a focus on the breathtaking views of Pilot Mountain and Cox Lake located on the property. They also have a tapas restaurant for you to enjoy.
