Zito Pizzeria and Grill

Zito Pizzeria and Grill is a hidden gem restaurant that has a surprisingly large and delicious vegan menu that anyone looking to try a plant-based meal would enjoy. Popular dishes include Vegan Poutine and Roasted BBQ Broccoli Pizza.

Winston Salem’s only all-vegan plant-based restaurant is an upscale restaurant with a menu that rivals anything in the entire state. Its rotating menu is thoughtfully crafted with a classy atmosphere not usually seen in most vegan restaurants.

Yamas Mediterranean Street Food

624 W 4th St and 1330 Creekshire Way

Mediterranean street food with two Winston-Salem locations. If you’re looking for something fast and delicious, Yamas allows you to customize a wrap, grain bowl, or salad with a large array of vegan toppings, sauces, and fresh veggies. 

Nawab Indian Cuisine

129 S Stratford Rd

If you’re looking for traditional Indian cuisine, Nawab is a great choice with many clearly labeled vegan options on its menu. Skip the buffet and order off the menu with Chana Masala and Bhindi Masala with a side of Roti, but do not forget to tell them to skip the butter. 

Acadia Foods

228 W Acadia Ave

It can often be hard for vegans to find a great deli sandwich, but at Acadia Foods they knock it out of the park! They have amazing seitan they make in-house (that you can also purchase by the pound) and numerous vegan options. They also regularly offer vegan brunch specials on the weekend. Popular dishes include the Fancy Bologna and the Cauliflower Melt. BONUS: Vegan cheese, mayo + dressings

Mellow Mushroom & Brixx Pizza

 314 W 4th St (Mellow Mushroom) and 1295 Creekshire Way (Brixx)

Two well-known pizza places in Winston Salem both offer vegan cheese as a substitute and also have pre-made vegan pizza crust and red sauce. Combined with veggie toppings, you can create a delicious vegan pizza! Mellow Mushroom also has tempeh and tofu as an option on their menu to add more protein to your pizza.

Mike’s Vegan Cookout

2501 W Gate City Blvd., Greensboro

Mike’s Vegan Cookout as a little food trailer in 2019 serving vegan burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and BBQ sandwiches! You can now visit them at their very own brick-and-mortar in Greensboro. Popular menu items include the Philly cheesesteak, Carolina hot dog, cheeseburger quesadilla, and more!

Hot Dog City

Hot Dog City offers an array of delectable dishes, including sandwiches, wraps, and fries, alongside their renowned hot dogs. For vegetarians, there are not one, but two pages dedicated to satisfying options, with many being vegan-friendly as well.
