This family-run bakery from Rey and Jessica Hurtado makes everything in-house with real ingredients and family recipes. Stop by for conchas, empanadas, artisan breads, tres leches cakes, and coffee!

Background: Baking runs in the family! Rey’s grandfather ran a bakery in Tacámbaro, Mexico, and Rey and Jessica owned several bakeries before taking a break to raise their four kids.

Matcha Oasis Bar

ADDRESS | 113 W. Mountain St, Kernersville

Vanessa and Michael Ortiz created this matcha bar as a place to slow down, breathe, and catch up with friends. Sip matcha, boba tea, and refreshers while the kids play in the dedicated kids’ room!

Bonus: We absolutely love the interior artwork painted by local artist Christina Parrish.

KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot

This KPOT location had been on our radar for over a year! Stop in for an all-you-can-eat experience combining Korean BBQ with traditional Asian hot pot. This is the franchise’s ninth location in North Carolina.

The Spicy Pickle

From the team behind Sage & Salt Bistro and Tuscani comes The Spicy Pickle, a casual deli! Expect classic deli sandwiches like Reubens and meatball subs, pasta salads, grab-n-go items, plus gelato and sorbet for dessert.

An all-you-can-eat revolving sushi bar designed to make you feel like you’re riding on a bullet train!

Dale’s Revision

A fine-dining, wood-fired restaurant and event space from the team behind Bobby Boy Bakeshop! Dale’s uses ingredients from Bobby Boy’s other food establishments to cut down on waste, so expect the menu to change often.

Sandbox VR

Located in the former downtown CVS, Sandbox VR uses headsets, motion-capture cameras, full-body trackers, and haptic suits for immersive virtual reality experiences!

Why It Matters: This is the first Sandbox VR in North Carolina. The franchise owner’s hope is that the prime location and high-tech entertainment will bring more foot traffic to downtown Winston-Salem.
