Thursday, August 15

  • Business Workshop – Greater Winston-Salem Inc. presents “Borrowing For Small Businesses,” a workshop for minority and women business owners. 11:30 AM
  • DIY Class – Learn to make a macramé hanging plant holder at Mixxer! All skill levels welcome. 6 PM
  • Art Workshop – Explore the therapeutic potential of art by creating a clay vessel at NCMA Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA). 6:30 PM

 

Friday, August 16

  • Opening Night – Experience the life of Princess Diana through Theater Alliance’s performance of Diana the Musical. Rated R for language. Runs through August 25.
  • Free Concert – Enjoy live jazz from Althea Rene at Corpening Plaza as part of the Downtown Jazz concert series. 6:30-9:30 PM
  • Outdoor Movie – Sink your teeth into a thrilling movie and watch Blade at Bailey Park! Rated R. Movie starts at sunset.
  • Line Dancing – New to line dancing? Head to Radar Brewing Company for a free beginner class, followed by open line dancing! 7-10 PM
  • Art Crush – The Arts District’s monthly block party returns, featuring live performances, art galleries, and local vendors & artists. 7-10 PM
  • The Breakdown – While you’re at Art Crush in the Arts District, check out this electronic music jam session from The DOSE Collective and Culture WS. 7-10 PM

 

Saturday, August 17

  • Winston-Salem Open – It’s tennis time! Enjoy all the drinks, food, and fan perks while watching 15 of the world’s top 50 players compete at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. The tournament’s opening day is Community Day – bring canned goods to secure a free reserved seat. Tournament runs through August 24.
  • Men Who Cook – Local male amateur chefs battle it out in SECU Family House’s annual fundraising event at Legacy Stables. 6:30-8:30 PM
  • Concert Series – The Bo Stevens performs in front of Foothills Brewpub as part of the Summer on Fourth concert series! 7-10 PM
  • Peter and the Wolf – Take the kids to Kaleideum for the chamber music version of Peter and the Wolf, featuring a woodwind quintet and narrator. Free with museum admission! 3 PM
  • Hand Lettering – Unleash your creativity and learn to draw handcrafted letters at Radar Brewing Company. 2 PM
  • Outdoor Movie – Rescheduled event! Watch the classic ‘90s film, Jurassic Park, at Washington Park. Pre-movie activities start at 7 PM, movie starts at dusk.
  • Indoor Concert – Sing along to “Heads Carolina, Tails California” with country singer Jo Dee Messina at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Arena! 7 PM

 

Sunday, August 18

  • Calligraphy Class – Join Sip & Script at Joymongers Barrel Hall to learn the basics of calligraphy! Supplies are included. 4:30 PM
  • Free Screening – Watch Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot at AMC Hanes 12, which recounts the story of how an East Texas community adopted 77 foster kids. 3 PM
  • Yacht House Party – Anna Yacht and Genesis De Vil host the Totally Y2K Brunch at Joymongers Barrel Hall, featuring performances of 2000s hits. 11 AM – 3 PM
  • Cocktail Class – Taste Yellow and Green Chartreuse and learn about these liqueurs’ interesting history at Eastytalk. 4 PM
  • Moonlight Paddle – Take to the water at Easy Bend River Farms and enjoy refreshments and conversations at the river’s edge. Bring your own boat or borrow one at the event! 5-9 PM
  • Anniversary – Pink Moon Cafe celebrates its first anniversary with free treats, live music, and activities! 2-4 PM
