Since 1957, the ladies of Philoptochos have filled the Triad with the aroma of baklava, spanakopita, and kourambiedes. This year, we’re turning the page: our beloved annual bake sale is getting a new name. Say hello to Opalicious Eats & Treats.
The name playfully blends “Opa!” and “delicious”—and we think it’s the perfect fit for an almost 70-year tradition that has never stopped bringing joy to this community. As with our prior events, proceeds from Opalicious Eats & Treats support local nonprofits, and it is our largest fundraiser of the year.
The name may be new, but the recipes and spirit behind them are the same ones our Yiayia’s (Greek for Grandmother) have shared with this community since 1957.
