Tanglewood Festival of Lights

WHEN | November 11-January 1
DISCOUNT NIGHTS | Monday, November 14, Tuesday, November 15, Monday, November 21, Tuesday, November 22
ACTIVITIES |
▪️Gift Shop – Enjoy some holiday shopping at the Gift Shop located at the Red Barn. The Gift Shop is located approximately halfway through the light show route. Here you will find holiday crafts, specialty foods, and handmade gifts by local artisans
▪️S’moresville – Lowes Food has brought back the marshmallow cooking experience to Festival of Lights with S’moresville! This long-loved family tradition is located in the Gift Village, right outside the Gift Shop.
▪️Stables – Inside the park, Tanglewood Stables offers horse-drawn carriage rides and tractor-pulled hayrides which provide a unique alternative viewing experience to the Festival of Lights show. Carriage rides and hayrides are scheduled by appointment only and normally sell out prior to Opening Night. Call early for reservations: 336-766-9540.

Red Hound Farms

Körner’s Folly – A Victorian Christmas

Christmas at Smith Hollow Farm

WHAT | Santa, Christmas crafts to enjoy creating with family, tractor rides, hot chocolate, Christmas games and activities, bon fire and s’mores, letter to Santa, farm animals, and more.

Clemmons Annual Tree Lighting

WHAT | An evening of music, snow, train rides, a visit from Santa, cookies and of course, the tree lighting.

Candle Tea

WHEN |December 1-3 & 8-10
WHAT | One of Winston-Salem’s most beloved Christmas traditions. The sights, sounds, smells, tastes and interesting narrative of Candle Tea provide a warm experience of Moravian Advent and Christmas traditions from early Salem to the present day. The regular Candle Tea tour lasts about an hour.

Fairytale Friday

WHEN | December 2
WHAT | Cozy up around the morning bonfire while they read a book inspired by the farm donkeys.

19th Annual Twin City Santa Toy Drive & Semi-Formal

WHEN | December 2
WHAT | A toy drive + semi-formal with a live DJ, complimentary beer, wine, soft drinks and light hors d’oeuvres provided, and a photo booth at The Millennium Center. *You must be at least 21 years old to attend this event.

Through the Years: Christmas at Reynolda Tour

Winston-Salem Jaycees Holiday Parade

WHEN | December 3
WHAT | The parade will begin at the corner of Spruce and 4th, travel down 4th street, turn right at Liberty street and end at Corpening Plaza, where the tree lighting ceremony will be held at 6 PM.

Christmas at Bethabara

WHAT | Celebrate the season by taking a journey through Bethabara. Visit the decorated 1788 Gemeinhaus, learn about — and taste — Moravian Christmas treats, listen to holiday music, and enjoy a performance by the Felt and Soul Puppet Theater.

West End Holiday Home Tour

WHAT | Join the West End Association for their Holiday Homes Tour where attendees will have access inside historical homes and buildings throughout the neighborhood.

Carols by Candlelight

WHAT | Enjoy hearing traditional carols inside Historic Bethabara Park’s 1788 Gemeinhaus. Illuminated by the soft glow of candles and amplified by the room’s architectural elements, the Piedmont Chamber Singers’ performance will present an unforgettable holiday experience.

Mistletoe Run

WHAT | The annual Wake Forest Lovefeast is one of their most cherished traditions. This event is first come, first seated. When Wait Chapel reaches capacity, simulcast viewing will be available in Brendle Recital Hall in Scales Fine Arts Center.

Enchanted Christmas Evenings at Reynolda

WHAT | Handel’s Messiah is one of the most celebrated oratorios of all time, beloved for its beauty, drama, and famous “Hallelujah” chorus. Former WSS Music Director Robert Moody returns to conduct this Winston-Salem Christmastime tradition at Wake Forest University’s Wait Chapel.
